Inka jungle trail - Peru

Let's go treking!
We booked the inka jungle trail with lorenzo experiences as we heard only good coments and apparently it's an amazing experience.
The planing was for 3 days trekking in the jungle and the last day spent treking up to and visiting the most famous: Macchu Picchu!

The first day we woke up at 6am for an early morning start and met our new group and guide.
We are with 2 english couples:Steve and Andrea who are on a world trip like us which ends in 2 weeks, James and Allison who are in the same world trip also but in the other way round and just started a month ago, and Simon and Carmen from Switherland who are tarvelling around South America for some months.
We left Cuzco and drove up to 4 500m for montain biking during 4h covering 60km!
As we drove higher the weather was getting worse and worse, at the end the road was cover in 20cm of snow and it was freezing cold! We could not start biking as it was too dangerous with the snow.
So we had to go down a little bit and start montain biking! we were dressed as if we were doing motocross but it's so cold than we didn't mind to have extra clothes on! ( also it's meant to be a jungle trail and be extremely hot! we didn't bring any warm clothes! )
We started to ride and for the first hour and it was horible, we couldn't feel any of our fingers and the wind iwaskilling us.
Luckly as soon as we got lower it started to feel warmer and at the end it was almost boiling hot. But riding through frezing water and mud helpt to keep us cool.
We arrived in the jungle after 4h biking, completly wet from biking into water ! All our clothes were dirty and wet!
All night it didn't stop raining so our clothes and shoes could not  dry, we had to wear them again completly wet the next day! wonderfull!.

The second day we had a long day, 10 hour trek in the jungle! It was really hot so all our clothes dried quickly. Our guide William was amazing, he taught us everything about the jungle, show us all the food and fruits we can find, how they grow and produce coffee, how to chew coca leaves and finally dressed up like locals! but the girls were dressed up in boys and boys in girls.
Some of the walk was really tricky for Andrea and Allison as they are afraid off hights and lot of the time we were walking near the precipice! we finished our long day walking in the sun at Hot Spring, where we had an amazing outdoor bath!
Also after some fresh beers to relax and nice meal our guide William wanted to share some Inca Tequila with us.... we had some shots and end up all together in the disco club to the tiny village.
We finished the night by dancing to YMCA , Digby gave 2 shots to William , we think he never drinks as he was completly pissed, but for finish by dancing to YMCA it's mean we all were pissed!

The next day everybody was a little bit hangover and tired as we got up at 6:45am, but after a nice breakfast we all went zip lining!
It was actually 6 zip lines beetween 2 montains with more than 400m high on one of them!
Sophie was a little but anxious to do it by herself and not in tandem with Digby but when she saw the zip line she manage to do everything herself and even filmed everything!
It was really good fun! Digby had fun to go up side down, to make it more exiting!
After that we had to kept treking for 4h until the next village.
We were all so exausted we sleept like babies but for a short time...

Day 4 wake up 4am! ready for treking MACHU PICCHU!!!
we took our headlight and walked for an hour and 1 861 steps until the top of Machu Picchu!
We arrived for the sunrise, it was freezing cold but amazing! WE DID IT!!!

We spent the all day at Macchu Picchu, enjoying the sun coming and warming up a little bit.
William explain us everything about the lost city of the Inca´s .

After that Digby and some guys of the group decided to climed the montain of Macchu Piccu (not the small gringo mountain, the really big one) and after that Digby went to go to the Sun Gate and walkd part of the Inca trail, Sophie and other guys was too much in pain after the morning and the other 3 days than she didn't wanted to do it.

We had an amazing 4 days and are really happy we booked this trip with Lorenzo Experiences as we saw lot of other groups with shity guide and bad organisations, for us everything went perfectly. The other groups complained to us afterwards about there tour, so we were very happy!

We all went back to Cuzco during the night, compltely dead, and no one of us could walk! we were all walking painfully like old peoples after all thoses trecks! The cold walk on the stairs back to our hostal was very tough.

We decided to stay one more day to relax  in Cuzco before taking the 20h bus ride to Lima.

So for our last day in Cuzco we joined all our new friends from the trek and had a couple of beers in front of France / England football match!
Not bad for the last day!

xx
