Senegal-La Somone

We went to an amazing place called LA SOMONE! Its a salt water lake fed by the tides of the sea. You need to walk along a sand bank seperating the lake and the sea until you get to a narrow channel. A small boat takes us accros to the otherside were there are small beach huts were you can eat and drink.
The channel has a really strong current caused by the tide filling or emptying the lake, its so strong there is no way you can swim against it, even a motor boat has difficulty going against the flow. So we stay by the edge of the water, but later in the day we swim into the current and are carried into the surf and waves its great fun the water carries you so fast at least 20 km/ph the beach rushes past. Then we swim left and out of the current to the other beach and need to walk around to get back. In every direction we look there is no one we have this whole paradise for ourselves. We must be the only people for 10KM on the beach. The beaches are endless with soft white sand and the sea is 35 degrees. Digby only goes into the water for a little while because you get sun burnt so fast and the water doesnt cool you down because its as warm as out of the water.
