Bombay - India

FINALLY here we are in Mumbai-Bombay!!!
We arrived there at 6:30am local time after a short night in the plane and jet lag.

We were exausted and spent lot of time to find a way to go to the hotel: the hotel told us there is a free pick up but obviously when we call them the pick up will be only at 2pm!! so need to wait lot of time in the airport!
afterwards all the indian's guard from the airport come to talk with us so quite impossible to  relax and have a little bit of sleep.
So finally we took a cab and arrived to the hotel , quite basic hotel but really fine for us after all this time in camping!!
TV, double bed ( we slept lot of time 2 of us in 1 simple bed), own bathroom, AC and fan.
The bathroom included shower, toilette, sink, and 2 plastic bowls.

Sophie was really happy to have finally a fresh shower , as the water pressesure was so low she thought to use the small plastic bowl for take of all the soap, she was really happy to have her first Indian's shower and explain how to do it to Digby, he laught so much and explained her the small bowl is for clean the ass after have a shit! No coment.

After some sleep we went to our first indian's restaurant, we didn't really undertand what was the plate but we wanted to try something, when we ordered the man laught at us as we ordered only sauce!! ahaha it's like going to a restaurant and order ketchup! So we ordered something else, we just finished eating some really spicey chicken when some plain rice and yoghurt apeared but we had already finished the meat and sauce. We will get the hang of it soon.

Our hotel is in Bandra and area were thereis also a large slum. We go to the South of the cuty the first night to walk along the sea front, its very nice and modern. There are so many high rise buildings and construction going on. India is really booming it seems and growing like crazy there are skyscrapers going up every where. If you squint your eyes and look at all the lights and skyline you could be in any 1st world country.

On the drive back we make friends with our taxi driver Solman who offers to drive us around the whole next day. He shows us Hindu temples, we go in and get the red dot and pray to several new gods. There's loads of them!

Then we visit a garden with statues of many Hindu gods at the cremetorium. Followed but some markets.
