La Paz - Bolivia

We arrived finaly at La Paz, one of the higest capital in the world ( 3600m).
It's sunny and a lot cooler than Uyuni.

For the first time of the trip Digby and Sophie will be separate and don't do the same tripduring 3 days .
Digby decided to do a ice treking in the Andes at more than 7000m of altitude.
It's a 3 days treking, with ice climing, treking during the night for be at the highest point for the sunrise.( See next post).
Sophie hate everything like treking specialy in the snow and the cold so she decided to stay in La Paz.

So during 3 days I enjoyed the life of La Paz, really nice city for chill out.
I had time to buy souvenirs for all the famillies, book the next trip for lake Titicaca, and enjoy the busy town .
I really enjoyed to stay some days in the same city and appreciate to know really well the place and feel familliar with everything,.
Also the last day it was the fiesta Morenada, who is like Carnaval.
It was amazing!!! during the all day the group of dancers and musics are playing and crossing the all city in front of thousands of people and the TV.

They are all in traditonnals costums and each is as beautiful as the others.
I was seting in the stands with all the locals, was at the first row so had a perfect view to the show!
I had the most amazing time ever with the funny locals and an amazing show!

The city of La Paz is famous for the witches market, where you can find all the fabrics, bags, souvenirs for a really low price.
And also find lot of stones and medecines ( like coco leaves) who are good for the spirit and sickness.
Also i saw that buying a Lama's foetus is protecting your house and brings good luck! ( when i saw the foetus i really don;t fancy it! )
it was really nice to spend some time alone also, to be independant and always nice to see Digby again and have lot of things to says! ( as we are always together we don't have lot of strories to tell!  but now yes!)
And have been separate for 3 days looks like 2 weeks!

Now we are going to Lake titicaca for our last days in Bolivia.

xx
